Magnetic Poetry - With You
Magnetic Poetry - All I Want

The opening synth line of Magnetic Poetry‘s “With You” calls to mind Katy Perry‘s “Hot N Cold” or Paris Hilton‘s criminally-underrated dance jam “Nothing In This World”. Alas, once you hit the twelve-second mark, it becomes blatantly clear that Russian duo Magnetic Poetry are not a pop band.

At this point, you’re thrown into a swirling 1980s middle school dance groove, shortly followed by lead-singer Oksana Anikina‘s saccharine-sweet vocals. “I don’t care what I’m doing,” she lets out with a stutter. “As long as I’m with you.” It’s a simple (yet effective) sentiment, hammered into your brain over the duration of the 2:46 instrumental.

“With You” isn’t the pair’s newest song, but it’s certainly their most accessible. Drunk girls – who are the mystery! – would totally get down to this.
